I am a Democrat. Unless or until there is reason to do otherwise, I will be supporting the Democrat nominee which is Sen. Cohen.
I still wish the best for Jake and feel that he will garner significant votes no matter who may or may not be supporting him. I wish him the best! However, party unity is very important to me and as a Democrat, I have a duty to support fellow Democrats.

This post was made today on this site by Joseph Ford Jr.the 1st cousin of Jake Ford. It appears that either Joe is a good democrat or he knows something that maybe the rest of us needs to know.

Aren't you being a hypocrite calling for the 9th district to be kept by a black man or woman, but what if said black man or woman isn't qualified. Stanton, Joke, and Tinker lost to a more qualified candidate who happended to be white.
Let's not fool ourselves, if Nikki and a couple of others had backed out a month ago and thrown their support behind one candidate, they would have won, despite not being qualified. Would they have lost if they had a administrative background like Henri Brooks, Carol Chumney, or John DeBerry and campaigned hard for the seat in a much smaller primary, you bet your ass they would have.
Steve is the Democratic nominee. I am going to support him because of this. I, despite being pigmentally challenged, can say that I was surprised by his win and did not actually support until Stanton started race and religion baiting. Imagine what would have happened if Steve had tried the same?
I'm not calling for a unqualified black to hold any office, I stating that the black community allowed itself to possibly lose a seat that gives blacks in this state a voice in washington.
I don't agree that qualifications come from the number of degrees hanging on a wall, or attending a ivy league school, but the desire to to a public servant and not self serving.

Steve Cohen's is the only man in the entire race deserving to win. He worked hard and always supporting the blk community and white community.
He was born to represent us as a whole. He is a good sincere man. He is a God fearing man. God loves him.
He is not like all the theives who claimed much but no one ever heard of stanton- a nobody, tinker- a nobody, bolten- a no good nobody.
Not to mention a person hitch hiking to memphis to (run for congress) just like those ghost Thaddeus had on the blog running to memphis to vote.
If I wanted something from the community then I would get on the community's side.
If the community was divided; I wouldn't stand across the street with the small crowd. I would get on the side with the larger crowd.

This whole Cohen/Jake thing has shown why Memphis is not as politically mature as other cities. Other cities have had black mayors and congressmen representing white dominated areas. Also, other black majority places have elected white mayors such as Gary, IN and Chicago.
Some here (as in Larsha) are more interested in a black face, no matter what the quality.

Joe Jr has every right to say what he wants, but it's obvious there's no family love or loyalty by the mere fact that he's on this blog. I dont know either of the young men, but I would have to believe that their mothers, especially, instilled in them core values and principles, one that Joe Jr. has forgotten,families stick together.

This talk about people crossing the line, and you say you will get themn in line. Put some decent candidates up and the vote will follow.
Think about the people who crossed the line to vote for a decent person. Lots of them. Think about the people who didn't really know who they were voting for. Lots of them.
Seems to me those who crossed the line knew what they were doing and did it. So, get a decent candidate and people will stay in line, but they will define the location of the line.
By comparison, Joe Ford, Jr. has so much to offer in comparison to Jake Ford. Some of us really missed out on a so much better candidate than the Joke. But with good reason, the name Ford can be scary when it comes to making this a better place to live.
I feel, I am a little insulting to to Joe Ford, Jr. in staing he has so much to offer against Joke who has nothing to offer.
In our attitude we certainly screwed this one up. Look, the Ford name means a lot to those who know no better, but a Ford by the name of Joe is something real as compared to the Ford by the name of Joke.
Is there a way we can get Joe, Jr. with us? Maybe there is a decent Ford out there. So far we haven't seen it with Harold, Sr., "Phoney Junior, John, Emmitt, Issac and Jake the Joke. These are the ones being shoved down our throats.
